Travel Plans

The biggest perk of living abroad in Europe is the travel opportunities. We plan to travel as much as we can. Now that we are somewhat settled, we've gotten around to planning some of our 2016 trips and holidays. And we have visitors scheduled too! We are so excited.

Here is what the first half of 2016 has in store:

March - Ghent, Belgium
Our first trip is any easy two hour train to Belgium for the weekend. We plan to eat lots of waffles, fries and chocolate and try different beers!

March Easter Holiday - Istanbul, Turkey
We made a list of all the places  we wanted to visit and prioritized the cities that we wanted to stay in a bit longer. Istanbul was on the top of the list so it seemed to be the perfect destination for the Easter bank holiday.

April - Edinburgh and St. Andrew's, Scotland
My parent's are coming to visit! We are so excited. Half of their visit we will be spending in Scotland, the home of golf, for my dad and Shane. We managed to secure a couple of tee times in St. Andrew's.

May Bank Holiday - Paris, France
Holly and Curtis, our friends from St. Louis, are coming to visit! We cannot wait. We are meeting them Paris over the May bank holiday and then they are ending their trip in London.

May - Dubrovnik and Lopud, Croatia
We didn't plan a honeymoon after the wedding given the London relocation. We decided that it would be easiest to plan something when we were settled here. Once we were settled, it was one of the first trips that we booked. We compromised half city, half beach starting out in Dubrovnik and ending on one of the isle's, Lopud, for some beach time.

June - South of France - Marseille, Cassis and Nice
Before our move, we entered the lottery for tickets to the EuroCup (soccer tournament) with Adam and Alana. We got tickets to a game in Marseille but are planning to spend some time in Cassis and Nice prior to the match.

  1. It just so happens I will be visiting Dubrovnik and Lopud Croatia at the exact same time you two will be there. Yes, I know you didn't say the dates, but I will be there. JK...LOL

On another note, let me know when you firm up a date for Budapest. If it' after July 24th I might be able to join!
