Holly and Curtis took the train to visit us in London at the end of their holiday in Paris.
For their first night in London, we went to dinner in a nearby pub with Martha. We did the same thing with my parent's, but at a different pub, and decided that it will be a new tradition for our dog loving guests. Dinners with Martha are always entertaining because you never know what she is going to do next. For instance, at our pub dinner with Holly and Curtis, Martha was obsessed with Curtis - she wouldn't stop jumping up on him. Martha is pretty handy with her paws and Curtis also received more than a few of Martha's paw swats. We continue to work on training her ...

Shane and I had to work the next day of their visit but had plans to meet up with them that evening for dinner. We took them to Shoreditch in East London to show them a less traditional London neighborhood. Shoreditch is known for being somewhat of a hipster area and has lots of street art.
Before dinner we went to a tiny bar that was hidden behind a cupboard door and had fancy cocktails. We each tried two different cocktails and voted that Curtis ordered the most strong drinks. Holly and I tied for ordering the sweetest drinks.

After cocktails, we headed a few blocks over to one of our favorite Indian restaurants, Dishoom. The crowd favorite being the black daal.
For their last day in London, Shane and I took the day off and we all headed to Richmond for biking in the park and a pub lunch. Richmond is located about an hour southwest of London, along the Thames, and is known for its huge park filled with deer and the quaint town. Shane and I had never been so it was fun to experience it along with Holly and Curtis.
After our bike ride through the park, we retreated to the old town and found a pub on the river. We grabbed a pitcher of Pimm's, ordered lunch and sat outside. The pub had two entrances for low and high tide. When we arrived the low tide entrance at the outdoor terrace was no issue; however, when we left the river had rose to the entrance. It was insane how quickly the tide turned.
That night, we were back in the city for dinner at an Italian tapas restaurant. Brett & Mary joined us for dinner and we practically ordered the whole menu! Even though the bites were small, we ordered enough that we were full when we left. We rounded out the night at a couple of pubs, including our local.
Holly & Curtis left the next morning after breakfast. We were so sad to see them go! And Martha already wants her roommates back.
Thanks so much for visiting Holly & Curtis!
